WHAT IS STOCK ?

Stock, also known as equity or share, refers to a unit of ownership in a publicly traded company.

When a company goes public, it may offer a certain number of shares to the public, which can then be bought and sold on a stock exchange. Owning a share of stock gives the shareholder a claim on a portion of the company's assets and profits, as well as the right to vote on important company decisions, such as the election of board members.

The value of a stock can fluctuate based on various factors such as the company's financial performance, market conditions, and investor sentiment. Investors can buy and sell stocks to earn a profit or to diversify their investment portfolios.
